Dx Multimodality™ is the world's first and only open system for image acquisition, review, comparison, interpretation and archiving from any brand of equipment for all imaging modalities : MRI, CT, X-ray, Ultrasound (Dx Quartz™), Nuclear Medicine (Dx Pinnacle™), Digital Angiography, etc.. Unlike any other existing image management system the Dx Family was developed to DICOM 3 and HL7 standards to accommodate work flow between modalities including radiology, cardiology and information management.

It also enables storage and distribution of images throughout all departments and has Teleradiology, Telemedicine and Teleconference capabilities allowing real time or deferred transmission of imaging data to distant locations (Dx Radionet™).

Dx Multimodality™ handles both cardiology and radiology images in the same client-server environment. The server is a UNIX server(Dx Multimodality Server™) whereas the client can be either a UNIX station or a PC using Windows NT Operating System (Dx Win™). The cardiology environment enables the clinician to process still and dynamic studies including ultrasound, nuclear medicine, digital angiography and MRI.

Dx Multimodality™ is unsurpassed in image display. The workstation supports both screen size as well as full 2500 x 2500 X-ray image with adjustable contrast, brightness and zoom capability. Our system's multi-window display capability allows clinicians to view simultaneous still and dynamic images in monochrome or various colors in ultrasound, Doppler, PET and nuclear medicine.

The Dx Software was originally developed in universally recognized software standards using object oriented languages. Based on a UNIX platform, the system uses ORACLE 7 as the rational database management system, SQL as the query language, X-Windows for communication within the client-server environment, C++ and the object oriented program language, Motif display design language, and TCP/IP networking protocol.

The PACS can be integrated in a HIS (Hospital Information Service), a RIS (Radiology Information Service) or a CIS (Clinic Information Service).
